On the Video tab, increase video quality by adjusting the control toward the right, and reduce video quality by adjusting the control toward the left. Increasing quality will make your new video take up more space on your computer or playback device, whereas reducing quality will typically make your new video take up less space. You can use the default setting for the Preset you selected, or adjust the quality control higher or lower depending on your tastes. Always use constant quality unless you have a specific reason not to. This makes your new video look consistent from start to finish. Still getting black instead of video, when flash is not forced in the FV settings. Slightly erratic behaviour: After forcing the FV default settings to use flash, Safari on PC reported couldn’t find the flash video file, after a page refresh it played fine. Yes I have the latest Quicktime version installed. BTW I have the latest Nvidia driver 344.75 which I updated last week when troubleshooting. Maybe something else on my system is affecting this if all your PC systems are fine on default browser and graphics card settings. Its a shame the default Nvidia Control Panel settings have to be changed for HTML5 video colour space to be correct. The video colour settings require changing to the following shown in the screenshot, manually selecting “Nvidia” settings specifically a Full Dynamic range 0-255, instead of using the “video player settings” I also found an Nvidia graphics card setting that resolves the problem with HTML5 video. I can confirm all you advise is correct and has fixed on my system:ġ) “Prefer Flash player by default” YES THIS FIXES AND IS MY PREFERRED SOLUTIONĢ) Disable the GPU acceleration of video in Chrome – YES THIS FIXES Are you using the latest available version of Apple Quick Time with it? We tested our videos on it and it worked. Safari for Windows is old, outdated and no longer supported. Here’s also one for Internet Explorer (occurring for ATI Catalyst Control Center driver): Similar issue in Chrome is described here: You can also try to disable the GPU acceleration of video in Chrome: chrome://flags/#disable-accelerated-video-decode These browsers use the graphics card GPU processor to show the video, so perhaps there is something set badly in the drivers. If it does, then I expect which may have something to do with your computer hardware. You can try Settings -> FV Worpdress Flowplayer -> Sitewide Flowplayer Default -> “Prefer Flash player by default” and see if that helps with your color issues. FV Flowplayer prefers HTML5 when the browser supports it for the video.
